While it remains to be seen whether the creation of an overarching single 'educational research strategy' is the most appropriate way forward, there is a clear need to ensure that the conditions (including for publicly-produced data, sustainable funding, infrastructure and skills capacity), are in place to facilitate educational research (RSE, 2016)"
