CALL FOR MSc EDUCATION DISSERTATION SUPERVISORS (Child and Adolescent Psychology pathway; Comparative Education and International pathway; General pathway)
Applications are invited for MSc Education dissertation supervisors for the period March to September 2020. This is an exciting, early-career opportunity to contribute to teaching on the MSc Education programme, specifically the Child and Adolescent Psychology pathway; the Comparative Education and International pathway and the General pathway. The MSc Education is the flagship taught postgraduate degree of Moray House Education and Sport and one of its most popular programmes.
You will either be qualified to PhD level or be in the process of studying for a PhD in education or a related discipline (e.g. Child and adolescent psychology). You will have successful completed your progression board. You will, preferably, have some academic experience in the HE sector so able to demonstrate an emerging profile in teaching. Ideally this will include previous experience of masters level dissertation supervision, but as training will be provided, this may not be essential. If you hold a Masters and have experience of masters level supervision, we also welcome your application.
You will be responsible for teaching dissertation students. This will include engaging in email correspondence with students; arranging and taking forward supervision meetings; participating in a standardisation and moderation process; marking and second marking. Additionally, you will attend course meetings and training sessions designed to support new supervisors through the supervision process; this will ensure you will be confident and well-equipped to support MSc Education students.
